This was a daily service between Newcastle and Poole, being extended to Weymouth on summer Saturdays as the Holidaymaker Express. The train was hauled by a class 47 loco which was exchanged at Reading where the train reversed. The National Fares Manual shows a standard single fare between Poole and Newcastle as being £46:50.
