BRITISH RAIL

- Bristol to Portsmouth -

Class 31

Class 33
Class 47

This service ran between Bristol and Portsmouth Harbour, with a few down trains being extended to Cardiff and a few up trains to Brighton. After the demise of steam, the trains were hauled by class 31 locos, being replaced around 1980 by class 33. On a few occasions a class 47 loco would deputise. The stock comprised a WR 6 car set and was berthed at Fratton overnight.
