Virgin operated the service between Edinburgh and Poole from 6 January 1997 until 11 November 2007. The service was initiatly provided by HST sets, being replaced in later days by class 220 and 221 units. Trains terminated at Bournemouth, and the service comprised one train from and to Edinburgh on weekdays and Saturdays, being the Wessex Scot. There was also one train to and from Glasgow every day which was extended to Poole at weekends.
